About the collaboration
only 35 years (plus) in the making...
Charles Wilson and Robert Beckman met at a large non-denominational church in Portland, Oregon and immediately recognized their mutual passion for music ministry, their similar tastes in musical genres and their ability to collaborate effectively through lyrics and arrangements...not to mention they have actually managed to stay friends throughout the different directions that their lives have taken.
Navigating New Careers, Location Shifts and Families produced a nearly 16 year hiatus in the connection, and despite several "pauses" in the current process, a renewed enthusiasm has taken hold. Now the music that was once known under the previous "band name" of Inside/Out has been "re-vamped" from the "late 80s" vibe into the 21st century...along with an infusion of brand new material that still captures both Charle's and Robert's musical influences, style and presentation.
This is our Musical and Creative Legacy.
Looking to the Future...
Despite all of the "starts and stops", along with other musical endeavors and collaborations, not to mention a few instances of civil unrest and that "pesky" pandemic thrown in for testing of their faith and perseverance, it looks like first quarter of 2025 will be the year to un-leash onto our friends, families, musical co-conspirators and the general populous, our Stuff!
After much consideration, we elected not to reference ourselves as Inside/Out. Instead, since the project is the painstaking creation of Charles' musical gifts and Robert's ability to string together words to tell a story, plus the addition of New Music, we decided to go with a "New Name" that reflected the music and the mission...Symphonic Faith! There are some "hand selected" guest artists willing to assist in the project, other than that...it is pretty much "Just Us".
Oh...and why "The Methuselah Legacy" for the project title? Perhaps it's because we feel this has taken over 900 years to finish...or because we are a "little older" than we were.
